A Hundred Different Altars

In one of Pastor Barry’s emails he sent a song, “A Hundred Different Altars” by Steeles. He asked that we listen, pray and let him know what this meant to us and what our response should be. He said to take a few days, reflect, pray and see how God speaks to us. The lyrics are:

“A hundred people at a hundred different altars

A hundred different lives are torn apart

They're bringing Him their illness, confessing their addictions

Praying for their children and healing for their hearts

At a hundred different altars

One loving God of mercy meets them all

Every day, the human race has a hundred ways to fall

But every day Heaven's grace hears each and every call.”

Just in my life this week, God has been pushing me into the unknown with lots of uncertainties. My Mom moved into an independent living community and gave up driving. My daughter bought her first home and is moving. Mike and I are moving this week. I am trying to work on something that God has brought to me. Several friends have been diagnosed with cancer this week. I am tired and cannot do this myself. That is when I go to the Altar and give it to God because He can handle it all. I just have to trust Him and I can have peace! Philippians 4: 6-7, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” “Every day, the human race has a hundred ways to fall but every day Heaven's grace hears each and every call.”
