Sleep in Peace
Dear PVMC, My sister lives in Wilmington. Today she texted me a photo of the lovely Butterfly card and Psalm 4:8 that she found in the room at Hospice where my sister’s mother-in-law is spending her final days. She has never known Jesus as the Messiah and I was not allowed to share with her. Now, at the end of her time on earth she came to Hospice welcomed with your card and Psalm. I want to thank you. It comforted us. Please pray as she prepares to meet her Creator. He can reveal Himself and His Son to her. I pray she is pain free. Thank you for caring.
I reached out and asked if I could share the story and was told yes with an update. “My friend passed away peacefully in her SLEEP a day or so after arriving at the hospice….she entered into the very promise of Psalm 4:8 and slept peacefully until she left this world to enter into the presence of her Creator. The Butterfly pillowcase ministry is very special and my sister and I are really grateful for it…God bless you all and everything you do in His service.”
Common Thread is a ministry of compassion to terminally ill patients through the simple gift of a butterfly pillowcase representing the hope of new life. Psalm 4:8 is written on the pillowcase, “I will lie down and sleep in peace. For you, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.” David knew his reward was the Lord Himself. David knew that God’s countenance would fall upon him so he could lie down in peace. He would be safe and sleep securely - confident that the Lord has his arms around those that trust Him! Each pillow case is prayed over by PVMC.
