Christmas Outreach 2023
Pine Valley's Christmas Outreach 2023 is revving up! We prepare and deliver 3000 plus meals to those in our community who are in recovery, homeless, housebound or just in need of a warm meal and friendly smile. Everyone can help make this outreach ministry happen by writing Christmas cards, cooking, cutting and bagging desserts, assembling gift bags, delivering meals, decorating, serving and cleaning up our Christmas meal. After a week of cooking there is a big nerd for some Super Servants to help clean. Volunteers donate part of the food and gift bag items. 1 Peter 4: 10, “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”
The monies given at the children’s musical and the adult musical go towards this outreach ministry. The Bible says that it is better to give than to receive and we have many opportunities to do this. Acts 20: 35, “In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”
We are to represent Christ while on this earth, showing His love to everyone we meet. We are called to invite others into our community of faith. Hebrews 13: 16, “Don’t forget to do good and to share with those in need. These are the sacrifices that please God." Many people serve inside our church but by going outside the church walls, we show God’s love to many who have never seen it. Ephesians 4: 1, “As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.” Paul is saying, “all of you, together, are to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.” We are responsible for more than our own spiritual health! We have all been called!
