God Said Move

Along with others, I am having conflicting emotions about Pastor Chris leaving. I am proud and happy for him as the new lead pastor at Lake Waccamaw Methodist Church. On the other hand, I’m sad because Chris is a supportive friend, not just a co-worker.

About a month before Pastor Chris knew about this opportunity he had a very clear calling. God told him there was going to be a move. He didn’t know if it meant his house or a job position. God didn’t give him a clear answer but a nudge that something was coming. Lake Waccamaw Methodist Church had weekly substitute preachers since July and he had been invited to preach. This was the move! God was sending Chris to LWMC. Joshua 1: 9, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” God goes with Pastor Chris and is with him in his journey. Psalm 91: 2, “I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.’”

Pastor Chris is excited about this move. He has no problem about leading but he is sad about leaving, that is the hard part. He is most excited about reaching new people - no matter where he will be. He is excited to be preaching the Word! LWMC has a small youth group and children from two years old to highschool have Sunday afternoon programs. “I absolutely, 100% have a heart for the youth and their families. I will have opportunities to go and speak at youth conferences and retreats.”

Chris, as we go on different paths, may we continue to follow Jesus in a way that others will be led to Him as we follow His calling. We thank God for you, your family and your ministry. We love y’all big!
