The Ripple Effect

I think about if I had been one of Jesus’ disciples. He would have chosen me even though He knew all my doubts and issues. Well guess what, He didn’t just choose them, He has chosen you and me to be His disciples, even though He knows all about us! John 15: 16-17, "You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. This is my command: Love each other."

Like Peter, I know I am inadequate but I have the help of the Holy Spirit! After Peter received the Holy Spirit, he helped add 3000 to God's children! He didn’t get to retire after that because God said to bear fruit continually! Matthew 28: 19-20, "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

God knows us, our gifts, our abilities and our inadequacies. He has given us everything we need. 2 Peter 1: 3, "His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness." Let's ask God to help us with our unbelief and empower us with His Spirit! As a disciple, are  you sharing the Good News? What does your ripple effect look like?
