Father's Day 2023

Father’s Day can be a reminder of what you did have or a reminder of what you did not have. I always felt sorry for my dad on Father's Day because he did not have a father figure. I pray for those who are hurting this Father’s Day, for whatever reason.

Some people are not able to grasp what a loving heavenly "Father" would be like because of their earthly father. When we feel an absence, it feels like a hole in our heart. Only God can fill it. God knows our sadness, our anger and our longing. 1 Peter 5:7, "Cast all your anxiety on him for he cares for you.” He wants to be your Father! He loves you and made plans for you!

A good father protects His children and we have the best Protector of all! Deuteronomy 33:26-27, "There is no one like the God of Jeshurun, who rides across the heavens to help you and on the clouds in his majesty. The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. He will drive out your enemies before you, saying, ‘Destroy them!’ This Father “will NEVER leave you nor forsake you!” Hebrews 13:5 You are precious in His sight! God can take our painful circumstances and make us a beautiful portrait of His compassion for others who need to know He cares about them. You are a child of God! You are special! You are loved!

We all have a Father to celebrate today! Let’s thank God for those earthly fathers and father figures who have influenced our lives. Happy Father's Day!
